What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

At Rooted in Wellness, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not an external initiative—it is woven into the fabric of who we are and how we operate. Our organization was founded on the belief that every person deserves access to the knowledge, nourishment, and community support needed to live a healthy, empowered life. That belief extends to how we collaborate, lead, and grow.

CSR shapes our internal culture by guiding our decisions, partnerships, and daily practices. We cultivate a workplace that values integrity, compassion, and community-first thinking. Our team members are encouraged to engage in service, innovate with purpose, and uphold our shared responsibility to address health disparities and social inequities. Whether it’s designing programs for cancer patients, delivering peer-to-peer education, or partnering with local food systems, every action we take is rooted in a sense of accountability to the greater good.

By embedding CSR into our mission and culture, we don’t just talk about impact—we live it. Together with our partners, we’re building a culture of wellness, equity, and shared responsibility that inspires long-term change.

Rooted in Wellness' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs are delivered to you by our Corporate Wellness Partner, HELLO HEALTH. Together, we represent a shared commitment between our nonprofit and corporate partners to promote equity, community health, and long-term well-being. Through CSR partnerships, Rooted in Wellness offers businesses the opportunity to go beyond traditional philanthropy by actively investing in the social, nutritional, and emotional health of the communities they serve and operate within.

CSR in the context of Rooted in Wellness includes:

  • Supporting community-based wellness initiatives that reduce health disparities, such as chronic disease prevention programs and cancer support services.

  • Collaborating on employee wellness programs that foster healthier work environments while reinforcing a company’s commitment to social good.

  • Sponsoring education, outreach, and peer-to-peer support programs that uplift underserved populations, demonstrating a company’s investment in systemic change.

  • Creating shared value by aligning a business’s brand identity with meaningful, measurable community impact in areas like food security, access to care, and health literacy.

WHY CORPORATE WELLNESS PROGRAMS?  They aim to help alleviate healthcare costs, provide employees with resources to combat/prevent health conditions/risks, boost morale--creating a positive work culture, obtain and maintain employee engagement and retention, and to demonstrate that the overall impact of offering a corporate wellness program to your employees will ultimately enhance their work-life balance and enhance YOUR bottom line. Hello Health is our corporate wellness partner, located in Southern California, where their team of health coaches will work directly with you to create the perfect wellness program for your company and employees. A percentage of your program costs will go directly into supporting disadvantaged families by providing Rooted in Wellness educational programs for youth and adults experiencing any or all of these barriers; food insecurity, access to healthcare, and homelessness, through our COMMUNITY HEALTH platform.

If you are interested in learning more about how YOUR COMPANY can benefit from Corporate Wellness programs and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), please email Rebecca Holder, Director of Education & Community Outreach at rebecca@riwedu.org.

CHOP PIC1.png

Be a part of something greater—help bring health and wellness education to underserved schools and communities right in your own backyard.

When a corporation embraces the power of social responsibility, it does more than support a cause—it becomes a catalyst for healing, connection, and transformation. Your investment in community wellness not only strengthens local ties and builds public trust—it empowers individuals with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to lead healthier, more hopeful lives.

By giving back, you help create a ripple effect of resilience and opportunity—one that uplifts families, inspires change, and fosters a more compassionate and equitable future for all. Together, we can turn intention into impact, and purpose into progress. Join us.
