“I did it! I was able to reduce my diabetic medications from four different
ones, down to two!”
Ellie is super stoked!
When I first joined the diabetes class, I was on four different medications and honestly felt like my condition was controlling me—not the other way around. I was tired, frustrated, and scared about what the future might hold. But everything changed when I started learning how food, movement, and stress management could actually
work in my favor.
The classes taught me how to read labels, plan balanced meals, and really understand what my body needs. I started cooking differently, moving more, and paying attention to how I felt—not just my numbers.
Within a few months, my blood sugar levels started to improve. At my last doctor’s visit, we were able to reduce my medications from four down to two. That was a
huge milestone for me.

“Thank you for teaching me how important it is to eat healthy everyday.”
Say hello to Jesus...
At my age, I thought it was too late to change. I had my routines, my habits, and honestly, I didn’t think much about what I ate—just that I was full. But the Nutrition Secrets
class opened my eyes.
I learned that eating healthy isn’t about giving things up—it’s about giving your body what it needs to feel good every day. We talked about simple ways to add more vegetables, how to choose better snacks, and how what we eat affects our heart, energy, and even our mood.
What really made the difference was how the class made everything easy to understand. No fancy words, no strict diets—just real-life tips that I could use right away. I started adding color to my plate, reading food labels, and even
cooking more at home.

“I’ve never felt so supported, heard, and understood by such an amazing group
of cancer fighting women in my
Fuel for the Fight nutrition class!”
Leslie has grit & gumption
When I signed up for Fuel for the Fight, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was newly diagnosed and feeling completely lost—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Walking into that first class, I was nervous. But right away, I felt something different. The room was filled with people who just got it.
Everyone was on their own journey, but we were walking it together. There was no judgment—only encouragement, understanding, and a shared determination to feel better and live well. We laughed, we cried, we cooked, and we learned how to take care of ourselves in ways no one had
ever taught me before.

“My favorite class was C.H.O.P. for Kids! I got to learn how to make homemade
sourdough bread.”
Curious George?
No, curious Thomas...
Each week, I got to try new foods, play games, and learn cool stuff about how to keep my body strong. I feel proud
because I can help my mom in the kitchen now,
and she says I’m a really good helper.
CHOP for Kids made me feel brave, smart, and excited to eat healthy. I can’t wait to come back and learn even more!”
